WASHINGTON (AP) -Miami forward Alexander Johnson was hospitalized after a collision late in the Heat’s loss to the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
With about nine minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Johnson was hurt and no Miami player could conclusively identify the second player in the collision. Johnson fell to the floor and was taken to the locker room before going to a hospital after the game for a CT-scan.
“He got hit in the temple and he’s just not responding at all,” Miami coach Pat Riley said. “We’re not sure what it is. He’s breathing, he’s just not responding to who he is, where he’s at.”
Johnson, a 25-year-old, second-year player, had nine points in 15 minutes. He’s averaging 4.2 points in 42 games this season.
