EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -Indiana forward Troy Murphy missed the Pacers’ game with the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday night because of strep throat.
“Troy is ill,” coach Jim O’Brien said. “He was ill yesterday, too, strep throat the night before and he played a lot minutes.”
Murphy was seen by doctors on Wednesday. He remained at the hotel when the team left for the Izod Center.
Shawne Williams replaced Murphy in the starting lineup.
