ATLANTA (AP) -Atlanta guard Mike Bibby had X-rays on his left thumb that showed no damage after leaving the Hawks’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.
Bibby missed Sacramento’s first 36 games this season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in the thumb.
The nine-year veteran was driving to the basket in the third quarter when a Milwaukee defender swiped at the ball and hit his thumb.
After missing a 3-point attempt on the first possession of the fourth, Bibby walked to the locker room and didn’t return to the bench. He scored 16 points and had three assists.
The Hawks traded four players and a draft pick to Sacramento to acquire Bibby last month.
In 22 games with Atlanta, Bibby has averaged 13.4 points and 6.4 assists.
