MIAMI (AP) -Miami Heat coach Pat Riley will return to the sideline for Monday night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Riley has missed the past two games to scout potential draft picks at the NCAA tournament.
“I think it has been very productive,” said Riley, who made a stop in Anaheim, Calif., to see games. “Absolutely for me it has been.”
M center DeAndre Jordan.
“I don’t think there’s a Tim Duncan in there, but there is a lot of very, very good players and not just the people who are projected to be in the first five,” Riley said.
Riley has missed three of the past six games to scout players as assistant coach Ron Rothstein has filled in.
“If I have to miss them, I will miss them,” Riley said. “I don’t want to. I’m going to try to get back and squeeze everything in on Friday and Saturday if I can.”
While Riley was out scouting, the Heat signed three players – Stephane Lasme, Blake Ahearn, and Kasib Powell – to 10-day contracts from the NBA Development League.
The Heat have the league’s worst record at 12-57 and have lost 11 of their past 12.
