NEW YORK (AP) -Portland teammates Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge will lead the sophomore team against Seattle’s Kevin Durant and the rookies in the rookie challenge during the All-Star weekend.
The Memphis Grizzlies had three players chosen Wednesday for the game, which will be played on Feb. 15 in New Orleans. Rudy Gay will play for the second-year players, while guards Mike Conley and Juan Carlos Navarro will play for the rookies.
International stars Yi Jianlian (China) of Milwaukee and Luis Scola (Argentina) of Houston also will play for the rookies. The rest of the team includes Seattle’s Jeff Green, Atlanta’s Al Horford, Toronto’s Jamario Moon and New Jersey’s Sean Williams.
Rounding out the sophomore squad are Utah’s Ronnie Brewer and Paul Millsap, Boston’s Rajon Rondo, Toronto’s Andrea Bargnani, the Lakers’ Jordan Farmar and Cleveland’s Daniel Gibson.
The sophomores beat the rookies 155-114 last year for their fifth straight victory in the game.
