76ers drop two more on the road

Philadelphia has struggled on the road this season and the 76ers have lost back-to-back road games by 1 point each to the Magic and the Heat. Philly is 23-12 on the season, 7-10 on the road, 15-16-4 against the spread and 18-16-1 with the over.

The 76ers have been a strong defensive team this season, allowing just 105.1 points per game while holding opponents to 45.5 percent shooting. Offensively, Philly is averaging 109.9 points per game while shooting 47.2 percent from the field. Joel Embiid is leading the 76ers with 23.7 points and 12.4 rebounds per game this season. Tobias Harris is adding 19.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest.

Pacers in a funk

Indiana is also coming off back-to-back losses on the road to the Heat and the Pelicans. They have lost three of their last four games coming into today’s contest. The Pacers are 21-12 on the season, 14-3 at home, 18-14-1 against the spread and 17-15-1 with the under.

Indiana is a strong defensive team as well, allowing just 105.7 points per game while holding opponents to 43.8 percent shooting. Offensively, the Pacers are putting up 108.9 points per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field. Malcolm Brogdon has missed the last three games with an injury, but is expected to play today. He is averaging 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is adding 17.4 points, 13.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Philadelphia

The 76ers are 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games as a road favorite.

Indiana

The Pacers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 home games against a team with a losing road record.

Prediction:

Philly won the first meeting with Indiana on Nov. 30, 119-116, but that game was in Philly. The 76ers are just not a team you can trust on the road right now. Especially against a good defensive team that will force the 76ers into being an outside-shooting team. Philadelphia has struggled with zone defenses lately and hasn’t shown the consistency to hit the distant shots and that should be a problem today as well. Indiana gets Brogdon back to boost both sides of the ball as well.

NBA Prediction: Indiana Pacers +1
