Thunder vs. Heat Prediction
Will Russell Westbrook lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to another win tonight when they hit the road to face the Miami Heat at 7:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Thunder are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Heat in Miami. The over/under total for the game has been set at 205 points. OKC has won and covered in four of the last five against Miami, including a Nov. 7 meeting in Oklahoma City.
OKC is on a nice run, having won three straight following a 112-100 win over the Timberwolves on Christmas night. They covered in all three wins to move to 19-12 on the year and 16-14-1 against the spread. OKC is now averaging 107 points per game on offense as Westbrook has been on a tear. He is putting up 31.7points, 10.4 rebounds and 10.9 assists per game. He had six straight triple-doubles prior to Sunday’s game. Victor Oladipo continues to be out with a wrist injury. He added 16.1 points per game for the offense.
Miami is coming off a 91-87 loss to the Pelicans in New Orleans on Friday night. They have dropped four of their last five to fall to 10-21 on the year. They have managed to cover in six of their last eight and are now 16-15 against the spread this year. While the Miami defense is holding opponents to just 101.4 points per game, the offense is averaging only 98.6 points per game. Hassan Whiteside is averaging 18 points, 14.9 rebounds and 2.35 blocks per game this year to lead the team. Miami is going to be without Dion Waiters, who is dealing with a groin injury. He averages 14.2 points per game this year.
OKC is playing at a high level right now as Westbrook seems to be in the zone. He has been the early frontrunner for MVP and is likely going to eat up this Miami backcourt. The Heat won’t be able to match the offensive pace Westbrook will put on with his scoring and passing, as the Thunder win their fourth straight.
