Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, the Spurs are the slim favorite on the road, as they are getting odds of -1 point against the Grizzlies. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 226.5 points. The public betting currently has 79 percent going on San Antonio as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Spurs beat up again

San Antonio has continued to struggle this season and is coming off a 134-109 loss at home against the Clippers on Saturday. The Spurs are 11-17 on the season, 3-9 on the road, 8-19-1 against the spread and 17-11 with the over.

The Spurs are putting up 111.9 points per game this season while shooting 46.3 percent as a team. Defensively, the Spurs are struggling this year. They are giving up 115.7 points per contest while opponents shoot 46.6 percent against them. DeMar DeRozan is leading the team this season with 20.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per contest. LaMarcus Aldridge is adding 18.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.

Grizz trying to heat up

Memphis hasn’t been able to sustain a lot of winning this year, but the Grizzlies are coming off a 119-115 win at home over the Kings on Saturday. Memphis is 11-19 on the season, 6-11 at home, 14-16 against the spread and 15-15 with the over/under total.

The Grizzlies are putting up 110.8 points per game this season while shooting 45.9 percent from the field. Defensively, Memphis is struggling. The Grizz are giving up 116.2 points per game while opponents shoot 46.1 percent against them. Memphis could be without Jonas Valanciunas tonight. The center is questionable with a foot injury. He is averaging 14 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Ja Morant is leading the team with 18.2 points, 3.2 rebound and 6.6 assists per game. Jaren Jackson Jr. is adding 17.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

San Antonio

The Spurs are 7-3-1 against the spread in their last 11 games as a road favorite and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following a loss.

The Grizzlies are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against a losing team and 5-1 ATS in their last five games as an underdog.

Memphis already owns a 113-109 road win at San Antonio this season and the Grizzlies have covered in five of their last six against the Spurs. San Antonio is just a hard team to trust. The Spurs have had nice wins at times, but then have struggled against really bad teams like Cleveland. Memphis has been competitive at home as of late, beating the Kings, Heat and Wizards in their last three at home. I like the youth of the Grizzlies to propel them to a win on the road against an aging San Antonio team that has lost its defensive identity.

NBA Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies +1
