Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, the Rockets are favored at home as they are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Mavericks. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 217.5 points. The public betting currently has 52 percent going on the Mavericks as the road underdog. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Mavericks winning on the road

The Dallas Mavericks have managed some impressive road wins over the 76ers and Bucks this week despite being without Luka Doncic. The Mavericks are 19-9 on the season, 11-2 on the road, 17-11 against the spread and 19-9 with the over.

Dallas is putting up 117.6 points per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field this year. Defensively, the Mavericks are giving up 108.8 points per game while opponents shoot 44.2 percent against them. Doncic was averaging 29.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game before his injury. Kristaps Porzingis is leading the way right now with 17.6 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, while Tim Hardaway Jr. is adding 13.5 points per contest.

Raptors rolling

Toronto is riding a four-game win streak coming into today. The Raptors are coming off a 122-118 win at home over the Wizards. They have covered the spread in three of the four wins. Toronto is now 20-8 on the season, 12-3 at home, 16-12 against the spread and 14-13-1 with the over.

The Raptors are putting up 112 points per game this season while shooting 45.2 percent as a team. Defensively, Toronto is allowing 105.9 points per game while opponents are shooting just 41.9 percent against them. Toronto is going to be short-handed today, as Pascal Siakam, Norman Powell and Marc Gasol are all out today. Siakam has been leading the team with 25.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Powell was putting up 14.4 points per contest. Kyle Lowry is leading the team right now with 19.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 7.4 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

The Mavericks are 9-3-1 against the spread in their last 13 games as an underdog and 22-8-1 ATS in their last 31 road games.

The Raptors are 14-6-1 against the spread in their last 21 home games, but just 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a winning team.

Dallas won the first meeting with Toronto, 110-102 at home, back on Nov. 16. The Mavericks have covered the spread in five straight against the Raptors. I think Dallas can make it six straight today. The Mavericks have played quite well since losing Doncic, as others have stepped up. They have played the Heat, Bucks, Celtics and 76ers over their last four games and have won two, lost in OT in one and lost by just six in the other. Toronto is really beat up right now and without Siakam and I just don’t think they have the shooting to contend with a team that is playing with a lot of positive momentum right now. I think Dallas finds a way to get it done.

NBA Prediction: Dallas Mavericks +2.5
