Thunder vs. Pelicans Prediction
Can the Pelicans pull off the small upset tonight when they host the Thunder at 8:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Pelicans are 2-point home underdogs versus the Thunder after opening as a 1-point dog, while the total opened at 210.5 but has been bet all the way down to 208.
The Thunder enters play tonight having lost three of four games and is coming off a 110-108 loss at home to the Hawks on Monday night as a 3-point favorite. Russell Westbrook hit 16-of-33 shots, went 3-of-10 on 3-pointers and was 11-of-13 in free throws on his way to 46 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, a steal and just four turnovers. On an injury front, Victor Oladipo is being listed as out for tonight’s game due to a right wrist sprain.
On Tuesday night Anthony Davis scored 31 points during the Pelicans’ 108-93 win in Philadelphia. Davis added 16 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 35 minutes played. He had a rough start to the game, making just 1-of-8 from the field in the first quarter, but the Pelicans fed Davis after halftime and he got rolling. The Pelicans are just 3-7 in their last 10 games.

OUR PREDICTION: The underdog is 7-2 against the spread in the last nine meetings between these two teams while the Pelicans have been a great home bet, cashing in seven of their last 10 games in New Orleans. On the other side, the Thunder are 1-4-1 against the spread in their last six games overall, are 4-10 against the number in their last 10 road games and are 2-6-1 against the spread in their last nine games coming off a loss. I’ll roll the dice on the home team coming off the win.
