Suns vs. Timberwolves Prediction
The Timberwolves blew a fourth quarter led to the Rockets on Saturday night but will they rebound with a win and a cover tonight versus the Suns?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Timberwolves are 5.5-point home favorites versus the Suns while the over/under currently sits at 215. Both the side and the total have moved off the original numbers, with the point spread moving from 5 to 5.5 and the total moving from 216.5 down to 215.
SUNS KEY TRENDS: The Suns are 1-7-1 against the spread in their last nine games against Western Conference foes, are 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall and are 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven games playing on one day of rest. They're 15-36 against the spread in their last 51 games versus a team with a losing straight up record as well.
TIMBERWOLVES KEY TRENDS: Minnesota is just 20-41-1 against the spread in its last 62 home games, is 0-4 against the number in its last four games when playing on Monday, and is 2-6 ATS in its last eight games after scoring 100 points or more in its previous game. That said, the T-Wolves are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games when playing on an opponent with a losing record.
OUR PREDICTION: The home team is 5-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings between these two teams and so is the favorite. The Suns have lost six of eight and are coming off a loss to the Thunder in which Russell Westbrook racked up 22 assists in a triple-double and allowed 114 points in a loss. Karl-Anthony Towns became the first Timberwolves player since Kevin Lowe with at least 40 points, 15 rebounds and five assists in the loss to the Rockets. I'll back the better team tonight against an opponent that has struggled of late.
MONDAY NBA PREDICTION: MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES -5.5
