Lakers with best record in NBA
Los Angeles is riding a seven-game win streak right now following a 101-96 win at Atlanta on Sunday. The Lakers now have the league’s top record after the Bucks lost last night. Los Angeles is 24-3 on the season, 14-1 on the road, 16-11 against the spread and 15-12 with the under.
The Lakers are putting up 113.3 points per game offense this year while shooting 48.5 percent from the field. Defensively, Los Angeles is allowing just 103.9 points per game, while holding opponents to 43.4 percent shooting. The Lakers have some injury concerns, as Anthony Davis is questionable to play tonight due to an ankle injury and Kyle Kuzma is out due to an ankle issue. Davis is averaging 27.4 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. Kuzma is averaging 11.1 points per contest. LeBron James is leading the team with 26.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 10.7 assists per outing.
Pacers win third straight
Indiana still hasn’t been full strength all season, but they keep finding ways to win. The Pacers have won three straight following a 107-85 win over Charlotte on Sunday. Indiana is now 18-9 on the season, 11-3 at home, 15-11-1 against the spread and 15-11-1 with the under.
The Pacers have been led by their defense this season, allowing just 104.3 points per game while holding opponents to 43.5 percent shooting. On offense, Indiana is putting up 109.3 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent. Indy has still been without Victor Oladipo all year due to a knee injury. Malcolm Brogdon is leading the team this season with 19.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game, while Domantas Sabonis is adding 17.7 points and 13.5 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Lakers are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight road games against a team with a winning home record and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record.
Indiana
The Pacers are 10-3-1 against the spread in their last 14 games playing on 1 day of rest, but just 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a home underdog.
Prediction:
Keep an eye on the Anthony Davis news. Obviously the Lakers are a much different team without him. Davis and LeBron are bringing the best out of each other and making up for a lack of depth on the Los Angeles roster. One without the other makers the Lakers significantly less. I am going to assume Davis plays as of this writing. With him in the lineup, it makes the Lakers to explosive on both sides of the ball for the Pacers to deal with. Indiana just doesn’t have the scoring to rely on and Sabonis is likely to be neutralized by Davis in the paint.
NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers -4.5
