T’Wolves back to being a losing team

Minnesota was having a good start to the season early on, but the Timberwolves have lost three straight games on the road coming into tonight. The T’Wolves are 13-15 overall, 2-11 on the road, 15-13 against the spread and 18-10 with the under.

The Timberwolves are middle of the road on both sides of the ball. They rank both 15th in scoring offense (110.5 ppg) and scoring defense (111.0 ppg). They do have the ability to shoot the 3, as they are 36.8 percent from the arc. Karl-Anthony Towns is leading Minnesota on the year with 21.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game, while Derrick Rose is adding 18.5 points and 4.5 assists per game.

Suns snap losing streak

The Phoenix Suns are coming off a 99-89 win over the Mavs at home on Thursday to end a 10-game losing streak. Phoenix is now 5-24 on the season, 4-11 at home, 10-19 against the spread and 17-12 with the under.

The Suns haven’t been able to achieve much on either side of the ball. The offense is putting up just 102.1 points per game on offense while shooting only 33.4 percent from the arc. Defensively, Phoenix is giving up 113.2 points per game and opponents are shooting 48.3 percent from the field. The team is without leader Devin Booker already and forward Josh Jackson is questionable to play tonight because of a toe injury. T.J. Warren is leading the team right now with 18 points per game while rookie Deandre Ayton is adding 15.5 points and 10 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

The Timberwolves are just 12-26 against the spread in their last 38 road games, but 5-1 against the spread in their last six games following a failed cover.

The Suns are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games and 6-21 ATS in their last 27 games following a cover.

Phoenix snapped their skid against Dallas, but the writing was on the wall for the Mavericks to struggle in that game. Prior to that, the Suns were getting demolished most nights. Minnesota has played three straight on the road against playoff contenders, so getting a chance to regroup against the Suns should help them get on track a little. Minnesota has more talent and more drive. If the T’Wolves can’t take care of business tonight, then they have some serious problems.

NBA Prediction: Minnesota Timberwolves -8.5
