Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Rockets are the slim favorite on the road, as they are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Grizzlies. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 201.5 points. The public betting currently has 60 percent going on the Rockets as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Rockets seek win streak

Houston has won two straight, though both were at home, coming into tonight. The Rockets are coming off a 126-111 win over the Lakers on Thursday night. Houston is now 13-14 overall, 6-9 on the road, 11-16 against the spread and 15-12 with the over.

The Rockets have been very mediocre on both sides of the ball this season. They are averaging just 109 points per game on offense while shooting just 45 percent from the field and 34 percent from the arc. Defensively, Houston is giving up 109.6 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 47.6 percent from the floor. One of the team’s top shooters, Eric Gordon, is questionable to play tonight due to a knee injury. James Harden is leading the squad with 30.8 points, 8.3 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game. Clint Capela is adding 17.4 points and 11.7 rebounds per contest.

Grizzlies in a slight funk

The Memphis Grizzlies are coming off a 100-97 loss at home to the Miami Heat for their third loss in four games. Memphis is now 16-12 on the season, 9-5 at home, 16-12 against the spread and 16-12 with the under.

The Grizz have been one of the best defensive teams in the NBA this season. They are giving up just 102 points per game while holding opponents to 44.5 percent shooting. Offensively, Memphis isn’t too impressive. The Grizz average 102.7 points per game and shooting just 45.3 percent. Mike Conley is leading the team with 20.4 points and 6.5 assists per game while Marc Gasol is adding 16.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Houston

The Rockets are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games.

Memphis

The Grizzlies are 12-5 against the spread in their last 17 home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 conference games.

Prediction:

I know what Houston is capable of, but the Rockets haven’t played to their potential all season. Houston has really struggled on the road, going just 6-9 overall and 5-10 against the spread. They face a Memphis team that is 9-5 against the spread at home this season, and yet the Rockets are the favorite. I don’t trust Houston to win on the road against good teams as is, so I won’t be giving up any points in the process.

NBA Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies +3.5
