Phoenix Suns DFS Notes
Chris Paul shot 4-of-14 from the field for nine points on Monday, adding eight assists, three steals and two rebounds in 33 minutes during a road loss vs. the Clippers. Paul has been held to single-digit scoring six times this season, though naturally he’s had at least eight dimes in each of those contests. L.A. has a quick turnaround for Tuesday’s game in Portland but it shouldn’t jeopardize CP’s status. He’s played four back-to-back sets already this season, logging 30+ minutes in all but one of those games (a blowout win vs. Denver). His durability at age 36 is remarkable.
Portland Trail Blazers DFS Notes
Robert Covington scored just three points, but grabbed five rebounds, with three assists, five steals, and four blocks off the bench in Sunday’s 116-111 loss to Minnesota. Covington didn’t do much of anything on offense as he shot 1-of-6 from the floor and 1-of-5 from three on Sunday. It didn’t matter though because he was an absolute beast on the defensive end. Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups has said all year that despite the offensive troubles, Covington’s defense was something that they needed on the floor. This was evident on Sunday as Covington’s 34 minutes were the third-highest on the team on Sunday. Covington is averaging three steals and two blocks per game over his last three, so if you want to take the gamble on Covington’s defensive impact, go ahead, but you have to be willing to live with his offensive ineptitude.
