Magic vs. Hawks Prediction
Will the Atlanta Hawks add another loss to the Orlando Magic’s current losing streak when they meet up tonight at 7:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Hawks are the clear favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -8 points against the Magic. The over/under total for the game is listed at 202 points. Orlando has won and covered in the last two meetings with Atlanta. The Magic are actually 7-3 ATS in their last 10 against the Hawks.
The Hawks have won two straight coming into tonight and are well rested, having not played since Friday. Atlanta is 12-12 on the season and 11-13 against the spread. They are putting up just 100.8 points per game on offense this season while allowing 102.3 points per contest. Kent Bazemore has missed the last two games with a knee injury and is questionable to return tonight. He has put up 10.7 points per game this season for Atlanta. The Hawks are led this season by Paul Millsap, who is averaging 17 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while Dwight Howard is averaging 13.6 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.
Orlando has dropped three straight coming into tonight’s game, with all three losses by at least 8 points. Orlando is now just 10-15 on the season and 9-16 against the spread. The Magic haven’t been much of an offensive team this season, as they are averaging just 94.8 points per contest while giving up 100.1 points per game. Orlando has some injury issues at center with Nikola Vucevic (back) questionable tonight while Bismack Biyombo (shoulder) is probable. Vucevic has been a big contributor, averaging 12.2 points and 11 rebounds per game for the Magic. Evan Fournier has been the team leader this season with 16.9 points and 3.3 assists per game.
The Magic are in a funk right now and our heading to Atlanta with some injury issues in the frontcourt, which doesn’t help against a team like Atlanta that focuses on their bigs of Millsap and Howard. Evan if Bazemore can’t go, Atlanta should be too much for Orlando to handle behind the strong ball handling of Dennis Schroder and the scoring inside.
