Thunder vs. Blazers Prediction
Will the Thunder pull off the small upset tonight when they visit the Trail Blazers at 10:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Blazers are now 1-point home favorites versus the Thunder after opening as a 1-point underdog. As for the total, the number hit the board at 219.5 but has been bet down to 218 at the majority of sports books.
THUNDER KEY TRENDS: The Thunder are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall and are 3-0-1 against the number in their last four games coming off one day of rest. They've also covered in five of their last six games coming off a win, are 6-0 against the number in their last six games against Northwest opponents and are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 road games versus a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600.
BLAZERS KEY TRENDS: Portland has failed to cover in 13 of its last 19 games overall, is 3-7 against the spread in its last 10 home games and is 5-11 ATS in its last 16 games after allowing 100 points or more in its previous game. The Blazers, meanwhile, are 0-7 against the spread in their last seven games playing on back-to-back nights and are 2-8 against the number in their last 10 games versus Western Conference foes.
OUR PREDICTION: The Thunder have covered in five of their last six games against the Blazers and will be the fresher team tonight with the Blazers coming off a game last night. (Portland lost at the Clippers, 121-120.) If you back Oklahoma City tonight, not only are you betting the fresher team, you're also taking the squad with the better overall defense. The Thunder rank sixth in defensive efficiency while the Blazers are dead last. The line seems somewhat fishy, but I'll back the better team.
TUESDAY NBA PREDICTION: OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER +1
