Wizards end win streak
The Washington Wizards had their three-game win streak come to an end on Saturday with a 116-101 loss at Cleveland. Washington is 11-15 on the season, 4-10 on the road and 11-15 against the spread.
The Wizards have been struggling on defense this season, giving up 116.7 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 37 percent from the arc. On offense, Washington is putting up 112.0 points per game, but shooting just 32.5 percent from the arc. The Wizards are already without Dwight Howard until February due to a back injury, and John Wall is doubtful to play tonight with a heel injury. Wall has been averaging 20.4 points and 8.3 assists per game. Bradley Beal is leading the team with 22.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest.
Pacers winning short-handed
The Pacers are without some key players lately, but still have won three straight games and have covered in their last two. Indiana is now 16-10 on the season, 8-4 at home, 13-13 against the spread and 15-11 with the under.
Indiana has the league’s top defense, allowing just 101.5 points per contest. They are also holding opponents to just 44.1 percent shooting. On offense, Indiana is putting up just 106.0 points per game despite shooting 47.5 percent of the field. The Pacers have been without Victor Oladipo due to a knee injury. He has been averaging 21.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season. Domantas Sabonis is adding 14.3 points and 10 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Washington
Washington is 6-20 against the spread in their last 26 road games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record.
Indiana
The Pacers are 14-5 against the spread in their last 19 Monday games and 25-12 ATS in their last 37 conference games.
Prediction:
The Wizards had won three straight before losing to the Cavs, but those wins were against some of the worst teams in the NBA. Washington doesn’t have a lot of impressive road performances this season and they come into today’s game without Wall. Indiana seems to be comfortable without Oladipo and still maintaining their high-level defense. I like the Pacers to cover tonight.
NBA Prediction: Indiana Pacers -6.5
