Rockets back on a skid
Houston suffered a 118-91 loss at Utah on Thursday for its second straight loss by double digits. The Rockets are now 11-13 overall, 6-8 on the road, 9-15 against the spread and 14-10 with the over. They are just 2-7 ATS in their last nine games.
The Rockets continue to slip on offense and they are now averaging just 108.5 points per game while shooting just 44.6 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from the arc. Defensively, Houston is giving up 109.8 points per game and opponents are shooting 47.4 percent against them. James Harden is putting up 29.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game this year while Clint Capela is adding 17.8 points and 11.7 rebounds per contest.
Mavericks fall to Pelicans
Dallas suffered a 132-106 loss at New Orleans on Wednesday when it was playing its third game in four days. The Mavericks are now 12-11 overall, 10-2 at home, 15-8 against the spread and 13-10 with the over. The Mavs have covered in seven of their last 10 games.

NBA Betting Trends
Houston
The Rockets are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on 1 day of rest.
Dallas
The Mavericks have covered the spread in eight straight home games and in four straight after a loss.
Prediction:
Oddsmakers still must think Houston is the team it was last year, but I have seen no evidence of that this week. The Rockets look stale on offense and their defense continues to struggle. The Mavericks had been playing well before fatigue hit them on Wednesday. They should be rest for today’s game. The Mavs already own a 20-point win at Houston earlier this year. I like Dallas to get the win straight up, so I will gladly take the points.
NBA Prediction: Dallas Mavericks +2.5
