According to the latest oddsmakers, Philadelphia is favored on the road, as the 76ers are getting odds of -7 points against Washington. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 234 points. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Philly winning, not covering

The Philadelphia 76ers have won four straight games coming into this game after a 103-94 win at home over Utah on Monday. However, Philly is just 1-4 against the spread over its last five. Philadelphia is 15-6 on the season, 5-6 on the road, 9-11-1 against the spread and 12-9 with the under.

Philly is averaging 108.6 points per game on the year while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from the arc. Defensively, the 76ers are giving up 103.7 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 46 percent from the floor and 35.6 percent from the arc. Joel Embiid is leading the team with 22.4 points and 12.2 rebounds per game, while Ben Simmons is adding 13.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 8.4 assists per contest.

Wizards lose third straight

Washington is coming off a 127-120 loss at home to the Magic. The Wizards have lost and failed to cover in three straight and five of their last six games. Washington is now 6-13 on the season, 3-5 at home, 10-8-1 against the spread and 11-7-1 with the over.

The Wizards have struggled a great deal on defense this year. They are giving up 122.9 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 49.4 percent against them. Teams are also hitting 38.2 percent of their 3-point shots. Offensively, Washington is putting up 118.9 points per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from the arc. Bradley Beal has been leading the team with 28.7 points and 7.2 assists per game. Thomas Bryant is adding 13.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per outing.

NBA Betting Trends

The 76ers are 5-2-1 against the spread in their last eight games on two days of rest, but just 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.

The Wizards are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games as an underdog and 0-5 ATS in their last five when on 1 day of rest.

These two haven’t met this season yet. The home team has actually won the last 10 in this series, including the last four at Washington. Despite that, it’s hard to see Washington being competitive in this game. The Wizards are terrible on defense and facing a team with a lot of scoring options. They have allowed at least 125 in four straight. I think we could see more of the same tonight. Philly should be able to score at will. Philly isn’t a dominant defense, but the 76ers have the size in the paint to keep Washington from getting a lot of high-percentage shots.

NBA Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers -7
