Heat cruise past Hornets
Miami picked up a 117-100 home win over Charlotte Monday night to improve to 12-4 overall and 7-0 at home. The Heat led 69-58 at halftime and outscored the Hornets in every quarter. Jimmy Butler paced Miami with 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting plus 9-of-9 at the free throw line. He also registered seven assists and three rebounds. Bam Adebayo accounted for 21 points, 13 boards and five assists. Kendrick Nunn had 19 points, four dimes and two rebounds. Tyler Herro tallied 18 points and two caroms off the bench. Kelly Olynyk added 15 points, 16 boards and two steals as a reserve.
Rockets drop third straight
Houston fell 137-123 at home Sunday against Dallas to drop to 11-6 overall and 6-2 at home. The Rockets trailed 45-29 after one quarter of play and were unable to recover. James Harden led Houston with 32 points on 11-of-24 shooting including 2-of-15 from 3-point distance plus 8-of-10 at the charity stripe. He also contributed 11 assists and nine rebounds. Russell Westbrook accounted for 27 points, six dimes and five boards. Clint Capela racked up 21 points, 23 caroms and three assists. P.J. Tucker had 16 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Danuel House Jr. added 16 points and three boards.
NBA Betting Trends
The Heat are 5-0 ATS in their last five games playing on one day of rest. Miami is 12-3-1 ATS in its last 16 games overall.
The Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. Houston is 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings.
It's difficult to not like the Heat with the points here. Miami is playing with a ton of confidence and has a leader in Jimmy Butler with an unmatched work ethic. With Houston not clicking on all cylinders right now, I think the Heat can take advantage with their deep roster and ability to hit you at all angles. I don't know if Miami will win this one straight up, but take the points and look for what should be a solid performance by the visitors.
