Nets vs. Grizzlies Pick
Are the host Memphis Grizzlies going to take care of business on their home floor Sunday evening versus the Brooklyn Nets? Tip-off is at 6PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Grizzlies are a 5.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 211 points.
Brooklyn comes in at 6-12 overall and 7-11 ATS after a 127-125 home loss to the Trail Blazers Friday afternoon. Memphis is 7-11 overall and 6-12 ATS following a 104-92 loss at the Nuggets, its seventh defeat in a row. The two meetings last season were split 1-1 straight up and 1-1 ATS. The over went 2-0.
The Nets were led by Spencer Dinwiddie with 23 points, six assists and four rebounds in the loss to Portland. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson contributed 17 points and four boards. Caris LeVert added 14 points, six rebounds and two assists off the bench. Brooklyn was outscored 76-72 in the second half.
JaMychal Green paced Memphis with 21 points and three rebounds in the loss at Denver. Marc Gasol tallied 15 points and 14 boards. Tyreke Evans added 15 points and three steals off the bench. The Grizzlies trailed 61-45 at halftime.
Brooklyn is 4-0 ATS in its last four meetings in Memphis. The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.
Brooklyn has good recent history in Memphis and plays a team struggling without its co-leader in Mike Conley Jr. While maybe the Grizzlies end their losing skid, envisioning them covering a spread of six points seems unlikely. The Nets have played fun, fast and hard all season to minimize talent deficiencies. Don’t expect that to change today.
