New Orleans picked up a 115-104 home win Tuesday night over Portland to improve to 5-9 overall and 4-4 at home. The Pelicans trailed 54-53 at halftime before outscoring the Trail Blazers 35-25 in the third quarter to take control. Jrue Holiday paced New Orleans with 22 points on 10-of-18 shooting including 1-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 1-of-1 at the free throw line. He also contributed 10 assists and five rebounds. Brandon Ingram tallied 21 points, seven boards, five dimes and two steals in his first game back from injury. J.J. Redick had 18 points, five caroms and two assists. Suns fall at Kings
Phoenix lost by a count of 120-116 Tuesday night at Sacramento to fall to 7-6 overall and 2-2 on the road. The Suns trailed 62-45 at halftime en route to the defeat. Devin Booker led Phoenix with 30 points on 10-of-20 shooting including 3-of-6 from 3-point range plus 7-of-8 at the charity stripe. He also accounted for eight assists, five rebounds and two steals. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 20 points, eight boards, five steals and two assists. Mikal Bridges recorded 20 points, five caroms and two steals off the bench. NBA Betting Trends
The Pelicans are 4-0 ATS in their last four games versus the Western Conference. New Orleans is 5-1 ATS in its last six games overall.
The Suns are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games versus the Western Conference. Phoenix is 1-4 ATS in its last five Thursday games.
The Suns have benefited from a home-happy schedule, but are perhaps starting to regress to where people expected them to be. The Pelicans are getting healthier by the minute and are close to getting Lonzo Ball back, perhaps as soon as tonight. I think New Orleans gives Phoenix a good game here and puts the pace to its liking, leading to plenty of points and a game that goes down to the wire. Go with the Pelicans.
