Clippers earn fifth straight win

Los Angeles moved to 11-5 on the season Friday night with its fifth straight victory as it prevailed 127-119 at Atlanta. Montrezl Harrell paced the Clippers with 25 points on 5-of-10 shooting plus 15-of-18 at the free throw line. He also recorded 11 rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots. Tobias Harris had 24 points, eight boards and two blocks. Mike Scott contributed 18 points and seven boards off the bench. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tallied 16 points plus two rebounds. Lou Williams had 16 points, 11 dimes and seven caroms off the bench. Boban Marjanovich added 12 points in 10 minutes as a reserve. Los Angeles outscored the Hawks 38-23 in the fourth quarter to rally for the win.

Wizards drop second in a row

Washington point guard John Wall was fined this week for reportedly yelling an expletive at practice directed at head coach Scott Brooks. It's been that kind of season for the Wizards as they fell to 5-11 after a 119-109 home loss to Portland Sunday night. Wall paced Washington with 24 points on 10-of-21 shooting plus 3-of-6 from 3-point distance. He added three rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Kelly Oubre Jr. contributed 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and two blocks off the bench. Otto Porter Jr. tallied 13 points, four boards and two assists. Bradley Beal had 12 points, four rebounds and three assists. Tomas Satoransky added 10 points, seven assists and two rebounds. The Wizards trailed 62-41 at halftime and could not climb back in after the break.

NBA Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The over is 5-0 in the last five Clippers games after scoring 100 or more points in the previous game. The over is 4-0 in the last four LA games after its opponent allows 100 or more points in its previous game.

The Wizards are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings. The over is 5-1 in the last six meetings.

Los Angeles seems like the right play based on how the two teams are trending, but you never know how a back-to-back might impact things. I'm more interested in the over. Not only has that been the right play more often than not when these two teams have met the last few seasons, but both sides play up-tempo and haven't been very good defensively this season. Additionally, Dwight Howard might miss another game due to injury and he is still a reliable interior defender at his age. This one should be fast and furious with plenty of points scored. Take the over tonight.
