Hawks hammered by Suns

Atlanta lost by a score of 128-112 Thursday night at Phoenix to drop to 4-7 overall and 2-3 on the road. The Hawks led by two after one quarter of play, but were then outscored a combined 73-57 over the next two quarters on their way to the defeat. Jabari Parker led Atlanta with 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point range plus 6-of-8 at the free throw line. He also registered seven rebounds and three steals. Trae Young tallied 21 points, 13 assists and two steals. Alex Len contributed 21 points and 10 boards off the bench. DeAndre Hunter registered 14 points, six steals and three rebounds. Damian Jones added 14 points, eight caroms and two steals.

Clippers fall in George's debut

Los Angeles lost 132-127 Thursday night at New Orleans to drop to 7-5 overall and 1-4 on the road. The Clippers were outscored 36-30 in the fourth quarter of the defeat. Paul George led LA in his team debut with 33 points on 10-of-17 shooting including 3-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 10-of-10 at the free throw line. He also notched nine rebounds and four assists. Lou Williams accounted for 31 points, nine assists, two boards and two steals. Rodney McGruder had 20 points, three caroms and two assists off the bench. Montrezl Harrell added 18 points, seven rebounds, six dimes, two steals and two blocked shots.

NBA Betting Trends

The Hawks are 5-0 ATS in their last five Saturday games. Atlanta is 1-4 ATS in its last five games overall.

Los Angeles

The Clippers are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games. Los Angeles is 4-1 ATS in its last five games versus the Eastern Conference.

Los Angeles still might not be without its Big Two available here as Kawhi Leonard is questionable with a knee ailment. But the Clippers have plenty else in the tank including George as he looked awesome in his first game back from shoulder surgery. The Hawks are without a key piece in the suspended John Collins and I think their struggles continue here in a lopsided loss.
