Trail Blazers secure fourth straight win

Portland downed visiting Boston by a score of 100-94 Sunday night for its fourth straight win. The Trail Blazers improved to 10-3 on the season as they led 54-37 at halftime and held off a second-half rally attempt by the Celtics. Damian Lillard led Portland with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting plus 12 assists and five rebounds. Jusuf Nurkic accounted for 18 points, 17 boards and three assists. C.J. McCollum recorded 14 points and two rebounds. Al-Farouq Aminu added 11 points, eight rebounds and two steals.

Lakers win on Chandler's block

After a go-ahead dunk in the final seconds by LeBron James Sunday night, a block of a potential game-winning basket by center Tyson Chandler allowed host Los Angeles hang on for a 107-106 victory over the Hawks. It was the third straight win and fifth in six games for the Lakers. James led the way with 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting to go with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Kyle Kuzma accounted for 18 points, eight caroms and two steals. Lance Stephenson contributed 11 points in 15 minutes off the bench. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope registered 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 16 minutes as a reserve. Brandon Ingram added 10 points and three rebounds. The Lakers were outscored 31-23 in the fourth quarter but held on for the win.

NBA Betting Trends

The under is 5-0 in the last five Trail Blazers games overall. Portland is 23-8 ATS in its last 31 meetings at Los Angeles.

Los Angeles

The under is 5-0-1 in the last six Lakers games following a straight up win. The under is 7-0 in the last seven meetings in Los Angeles.

Keep an eye on the status of Lillard as he is questionable coming in due to a knee injury. His absence would be massive as the Lakers are starting to hit their stride and played well at Portland earlier this season during the stretch where they were still trying to figuring it out. Los Angeles is surely far from all the way there as a narrow win over Atlanta isn't much to write home about, but this team seems to have a renewed focus on defense after the addition of Chandler. I like LA to win by at least a few points tonight to cover the spread.
