Cavaliers vs. Knicks Pick
Are the New York Knicks going to cover at home as an underdog versus the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight at 7:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Cavaliers are listed as a 6-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 221 points.
Cleveland enters with a 6-7 record and are 4-8-1 ATS after a 111-104 victory at the Mavericks. New York is 7-5 overall and 7-5 ATS following a 118-91 home win against the Kings. The Knicks won Oct. 29 at the Cavs by a count of 114-95. Last season, Cleveand was 4-0 straight up and ATS in four meetings. The over-under has gone 2-2-1 since the start of last season.
In the win at Dallas, Kevin Love led the way with 29 points and 15 rebounds. LeBron James contributed 19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. J.R. Smith added 17 points. Cleveland trailed by three at halftime, but outscored the hosts 34-22 in the third quarter.
Kristaps Porzingis returned from a one-game absence to score 34 points in the win over Sacramento. Courtney Lee contributed 20 points. Enes Kanter added 17 points and 13 boards. New York led 90-66 through three quarters.
Cleveland is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings. The under is 9-2-1 in the last 12 meetings.
New York actually looks like it has a competent basketball team this season, although the last two years strong starts to the season eventually fell into chaos. But with Porzingis emerging as a star, the Knicks have the look of a team that could snag one of the Eastern Conference playoff spots. This will be a big test against a Cavs squad with issues that haven’t really been sorted yet. The spread seems to be a bit big in their favor here. Take the home team.
