T-Wolves fall on late OT jumper

Minnesota lost 100-98 at home in overtime Sunday evening against Denver to drop to 5-4 overall and 2-2 at home. The Timberwolves outscored the Nuggets 26-14 in the fourth quarter to rally back, but were then outscored 10-8 in the extra session. Karl Anthony-Towns paced Minnesota with 25 points on 8-of-23 shooting including 3-of-14 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-8 at the free throw line. He also registered 16 rebounds, six assists and two blocked shots. Andrew Wiggins also scored 25 to go with five assists and four boards. Josh Okogie had 17 points, eight caroms and four dimes off the bench. Jarrett Culver added 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Pistons fall at Pacers

Detroit lost 112-106 at Indiana Friday night to fall to 4-6 on the season and 1-4 on the road. The Pistons led by eight after one quarter, but were then outscored a combined 58-37 over the next two quarters. Luke Kennard led Detroit with 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting including 4-of-9 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-3 at the charity stripe. He also accounted for six rebounds and five assists. Langston Galloway had 19 points, three boards and three assists off the bench. Andre Drummond contributed 15 points, 13 boards and eight assists. Markieff Morris tallied 13 points, two rebounds and two assists. Tony Snell recorded 11 points, two boards and two assists. Bruce Brown added 10 points, six caroms, four dimes and three steals.

NBA Betting Trends

The Timberwolves are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games. Minnesota is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 Monday games.

The Pistons are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games versus the Northwest Division. Detroit is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 home games.

It will be interesting to see how much of a minutes restriction Griffin has in his first game back, but at the very least it is an important step as the Pistons look to return to health. With Minnesota having played yesterday and Detroit off since Friday with a short amount of travel, I definitely like Detroit to get the job done here. Look for the Pistons to wear down the opposition and take over in the second half.
