Celtics snap two-game skid
Boston outscored the host Suns 16-9 in overtime Thursday night to secure a 116-109 victory and improve to 7-4 on the season. Kyrie Irving had a huge game with 39 points on 13-of-28 shooting with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. Jaylen Brown registered 17 points and six rebounds. Marcus Morris had 17 points, eight boards and three assists off the bench. Terry Rozier added 10 points and six rebounds as a reserve. The Celtics rallied in the fourth quarter by outscoring Phoenix 35-20 to force overtime.
Jazz end four-game losing streak
Donovan Mitchell returned from an ankle injury Wednesday night to score a team-best 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting with seven assists, five rebounds and two steals as the Jazz won their first home game of the season by a count of 117-102 over Dallas. Utah had previously lost its first four home games. Alec Burks had 18 points off the bench. Rudy Gobert registered 17 points, 10 boards, four blocked shots and two assists. Jae Crowder had 14 points and six rebounds as a reserve. Derrick Favors recorded 13 points, six rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Ricky Rubio added 10 points, 12 assists, five rebounds and three steals. Utah led 68-45 at halftime and rolled from there.
NBA Betting Trends
The over is 5-0 in the last five Celtics games on Fridays. Boston is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Utah. The Jazz are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home meetings with the Celtics.
Utah seemed re-energized with Mitchell back in the lineup and it had a day off at home heading into tonight's game. Meanwhile, the Celtics expended a lot of energy last night rallying past the Suns and winning in overtime. I think Boston will show some fatigue here and you couldn't ask for a much tougher challenge than the relentless defense the Jazz play. Go with the home team here.
