Suns vs. Trail Blazers Prediction
Are the Suns a live dog for bettors tonight when they visit the Trail Blazers at 10:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Trail Blazers are 7.5-point home favorites over the Suns, while the over/under currently sits at 218.5 points. While the point spread opened at Portland -7.5 and hasn't moved, the total has jumped from 217 up to 218.5 at most online and Vegas sports books.
SUNS KEY TRENDS: The Suns have been a fantastic play coming off a loss, going 13-3 against the spread in their last 16 games when losing in their previous game. They've also been a solid road play of late, covering in five of their last seven games away from Phoenix. They're 5-1 against the number in their last six games playing on only one day of rest as well.
BLAZERS KEY TRENDS: The Blazers have also been a good play when playing on only one day of rest, covering in four of their last five games in that scenario. That said, they're just 1-5 against the number in their last six games coming off a win and have lost eight of 10 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game. They're also just 1-5 ATS in their last six home games when facing an opponent that has a losing road record.
OUR PREDICTION: The Suns are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven trips to Portland, are 11-5 against the number in their last 16 games overall versus the Trail Blazers, and the underdog has cashed in 10 of the last 14 meetings between these two teams. The Blazers haven't exactly been a dominant team at home, losing two of three in Portland to start the season. While the Blazers are the more efficient team offensively, the Suns have a slight edge defensively, which should result in Phoenix keeping this game within the point spread. Plus, even though the Blazers have better efficiency numbers on the offensive end, Suns' guard Devin Booker is making strides to becoming one of the league's top shooters.
