Pelicans vs. Pacers Pick
Will the New Orleans Pelicans notch a road win when they play at the Indiana Pacers Tuesday night at 7PM ET?
Oddsmakers at sports book Bovada.lv have made the Pelicans a 1.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 217 points.
New Orleans comes in with a 5-5 record following a 96-90 overtime victory at the Bulls. Indiana is also 5-5 following a 108-101 loss at the Knicks. The two meetings last season were split 1-1 and the Pelicans covered the spread both times. The under was 2-0.
In the win at Chicago, Anthony Davis led the way with 27 points and 16 rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins accounted for 25 points and 11 rebounds. Jameer Nelson added 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals off the bench. New Orleans outscored the hosts 13-7 in overtime.
Indiana was paced by Darren Collison as he had 15 points, 10 assists and five rebounds in the loss at New York. Thaddeus Young had a team-best 18 points and five rebounds. Victor Oladipo scored 17. The Pacers blew a 19-point lead, getting outscored 36-17 in the fourth quarter.
New Orleans is 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Indiana.
The Pelicans still haven’t found consistency with the Davis and Cousins monster interior, sneaking out an OT win at Chicago and seemingly trading wins and losses thus far. The Pacers are also an up-and-down team, but returning home after blowing such a big lead will have them properly motivated for this one. Myles Turner will help offset the twin towers of New Orleans, while strong backcourt play will take care of the rest.
