Sixers suffer first loss
Philadelphia dropped to 5-1 on the season and 3-1 on the road in its second of two games without the suspended Embiid as it fell 114-109 Monday night at Phoenix. The 76ers were outscored 59-48 in the second half of the defeat. Al Horford paced Philadelphia with 32 points on 13-of-20 shooting including 5-of-8 on 3-point tries plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also tallied five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Tobias Harris registered 24 points, 10 boards, two assists and two steals. Furkan Korkmaz added 20 points, five caroms and two dimes.
Jazz fall at Clippers
Utah lost by a count of 105-94 Sunday night at Los Angeles to drop to 4-3 overall and 1-3 on the road. The Jazz were outscored 40-25 in the fourth quarter of the defeat. Donovan Mitchell led Utah with 36 points on 11-of-20 shooting including 4-of-6 on 3-point attempts plus 10-of-14 at the charity stripe. He also notched six assists, four rebounds and two steals. Bojan Bogdanovic accounted for 19 points, four assists and three boards. Rudy Gobert added 12 points and 14 rebounds.
NBA Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The Sixers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS loss. Philadelphia is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings.
Utah
The Jazz are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games. Utah is 14-5 ATS in its last 19 Wednesday games.
Prediction:
The 76ers will welcome back Embiid and hope he doesn’t decide to tangle with Gobert tonight to get himself suspended tonight. Utah has yet lose at home and I think it keeps that streak intact tonight. The Jazz are fantastic defensively and while the Sixers are as well, the latter has been on the road for a while and fatigue might be starting to set in. Look for the hosts to overtake Philly in the fourth quarter to cover the spread.
