Jazz edged at Kings
Utah gave up the go-ahead basket with under three seconds left Friday night in a 102-101 loss at Sacramento. The Jazz trailed 28-18 after one quarter and battled back, but ultimately could not carve out the win. Donovan Mitchell led Utah with 24 points on 9-of-19 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also recorded four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Mike Conley Jr. had 19 points, four boards, four dimes and four steals. Bojan Bogdanovich accounted for 17 points, six caroms and two assists. Rudy Gobert added 15 points, 16 rebounds and two blocked shots.
Clippers prevail over Spurs
Los Angeles picked up a 103-97 home win Thursday night over San Antonio to improve to 4-2 overall and 3-0 at home. The Clippers outscored the Spurs 53-49 in the second half to put it away. Kawhi Leonard led the way against his former team with 38 points on 15-of-32 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-6 at the free throw line. He also registered 12 rebounds and four steals. Montrezl Harrell had 24 points and four caroms off the bench. Lou Williams added 12 points, five assists and two rebounds as a reserve.
NBA Betting Trends
Utah
The Jazz are 1-4 ATS in their last five Sunday games. Utah is 1-5 ATS in its last six road games.
Los Angeles
The Clippers are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Sunday games. Los Angeles is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 versus the Northwest Division.
Prediction:
Utah handled LA last Wednesday fairly easily, but you can throw that one out because not only were the Jazz at home but Leonard sat out that day. The Clippers are obviously an entirely different team when he is on the floor and I think the hosts take this contest very seriously since it is a team that did so recently defeat them. Look for LA to bottle up the Jazz and give them a taste of their own medicine tonight.
