Simmons one assist shy of triple-double
Sixers point guard Ben Simmons tallied 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting plus 12 rebounds and nine assists in a 113-92 home victory over the Hawks last night. The score was tied 47-47 at halftime before Philly outscored Atlanta 31-13 in the third quarter. Markelle Fultz contributed to the win with 16 points, seven assists and four rebounds. J.J. Redick had 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals off the bench. Mike Muscala had 14 points and five boards as a reserve. Landry Shamet registered 13 points and two rebounds off the bench. Robert Covington had 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. Joel Embiid added 10 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Raptors fall flat at Bucks
Toronto was without star Kawhi Leonard as he sat out for rest Monday night in a 124-109 loss at Milwaukee. The Raptors trailed 62-53 at halftime and the deficit grew to 17 by the end of the third quarter. Serge Ibaka paced Toronto with 30 points and nine rebounds. Pascal Siakam contributed 22 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists. Jonas Valunciunas added 10 points and three boards off the bench.
NBA Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The Sixers are 0-6 ATS in their last six road games. Philadelphia is 1-5 ATS in its last six meetings in Toronto.
Toronto
The over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. The Raptors are 0-5-1 ATS in their last six home games versus an opponent with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
Prediction:
Toronto will be back to full strength tonight with Leonard back as long as no one else sits out. The Raptors are very strong at home and the 76ers are traveling all the way from Atlanta. That might lead to second-half fatigue. Philadelphia hasn’t really seemed to hit its stride yet this season and I don’t think a win over lowly Atlanta counts as getting it rolling. I think Toronto shows tonight why it is a favorite in the Eastern Conference.
