Wizards vs. Warriors Pick
Are the Washington Wizards equipped to stay within the spread Friday night at the Golden State Warriors? Tip-off is at 10:30PM EST.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Warriors are a 12-point favorite to win on the spread line. The over-under is set at 231.
The Wizards come in with a 3-1 record after a 102-99 overtime loss at the Lakers Wednesday night. The Warriors come in at 3-2 following a 117-112 home win Wednesday at home against the Raptors. Last season’s two meetings were split 1-1 straight up and ATS with both teams winning on their home floor. The over-under also went 1-1.
Washington was led by Bradley Beal against the Lakers as he had 28 points and six boards. John Wall accounted for 18 points and nine assists. Marcin Gortat had 11 points and 14 rebounds. Otto Porter had 12 points. The Wizards allowed a 3-pointer by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with 58 seconds in OT that proved to be the difference.
Steph Curry led the Warriors in the win over Toronto with 30 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Kevin Durant had 29 points, while Klay Thompson accounted for 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Golden State opened up a 61-53 halftime advantage and held on from there.
The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Golden State. The Warriors are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning straight up record.
The Warriors have been good, but not great to start this season. The Wizards have some playmakers such as Wall, Beal and Porter that could thrive in this setting and make it an interesting game. Ultimately, it would be shocking if Washington won straight up but 12 points seems too steep. Wizards are a good play here.
