Thunder vs. Timberwolves Pick
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Thunder are a 2.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 218 points.
Oklahoma City is 2-2 on the season after a 114-96 home win over the Pacers. Minnesota comes in at 2-3 following a 122-101 defeat at the Pistons. Minnesota shocked OKC last week as a half-court 3-pointer at the buzzer by Andrew Wiggins gave the T-wolves a 115-113 victory. Three of last year's four meetings were won by the Thunder straight up and ATSon by the Thunder straight up and ATS. The total also went 2-2.
The Thunder were led by a Russell Westbrook triple-double of 28 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds in the win over Indiana. Carmelo Anthony accounted for 28 points and 10 rebounds. Steven Adams chipped in with 17 points and 11 boards, while Paul George scored 10 in 19 minutes before fouling out. Oklahoma City outscored the Pacers 60-48 in the second half.
Karl-Anthony Towns put in 23 points and 10 rebounds in the loss at the Pistons. Wiggins scored 21, while Jeff Teague added 18 points and six assists. After leading by three through one quarter, Minneosta was outscored 40-18 in the second quarter.
Oklahoma City is 4-9 ATS in its last 13 meetings in Minnesota. The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Minnesota.
Revenge spots are always nice, although the return of Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota lineup is huge after his absence due to a respiratory illness was very noticable. The big three for OKC are still learning how to mesh, as is Butler with the likes of Towns and Wiggins. The difference for us here is home court.
