Timberwolves vs. Pistons Pick
Are the Minnesota Timberwolves going to rebound from a loss by defeating the host Detroit Pistons Wednesday night? Tip time is 7PM EST.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Pistons are a 1-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 208 points.
Minnesota is 2-2 on the season following a 130-107 home loss Tuesday night against the Pacers. Detroit is 2-2 following a 97-86 home loss Monday night versus the 76ers. The Pistons won both meetings last season straight up and ATS. The total went over both games.
In the Timberwolves’ loss Tuesday, Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with 28 points and seven rebounds. Shabazz Muhammad scored 14 points. Nemanja Bjelica and Jamal Crawford both scored 18 off the bench. Jimmy Butler missed the game due to illness and is expected to miss Wednesday’s game as well. The game went to halftime tied at 61-61 before Indiana outscored the hosts 37-23 in the third.
Detroit was paced by Reggie Jackson on Tuesday as he had 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Andre Drummond had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Avery Bradley chipped in with 15 points. The Pistons trailed 56-43 at halftime en route to the loss.
Minnesota is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings. The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Detroit.
Bet on Timberwolves vs. Pistons
Butler is such an integral part of what Minnesota does on both ends of the floor and his fire was sorely missed Tuesday. On a back-to-back, Minnesota is going to want to right the ship quickly even with Butler out again. Even with Butler missing a second straight game, Towns will have a significant advantage over Drummond due to the latter being subpar defensively and not nearly the offensive threat. We like Minnesota here even without a key player.
