Grizzlies vs. Rockets Pick
Who will remain unbeaten when the Memphis Grizzlies play at the Houston Rockets Monday night at 8PM EST?
Oddsmakers at sports book Bovada.lv have made the Rockets a 7.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 213.
Memphis comes in with a 2-0 record after a 111-101 home victory over the Warriors Saturday night. Houston is 3-0 after its 107-91 home win against the Mavericks. The four meetings were split 2-2 straight up last season and they also went 2-2 ATS. The total was 2-2 as well.
In the Grizzlies’ last win, Marc Gasol led the way with a monster night of 34 points and 14 rebounds. James Ennis III contributed 13 points, four boards and three assists. Mike Conley Jr. had 10 points and seven assists. Tyreke Evans recorded 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Memphis led 88-71 through three quarters before holding off a GSW rally attempt.
The Rockets will be without veteran point guard Chris Paul for multiple weeks with a knee injury. It mattered little against Dallas as James Harden tallied 29 points and seven assists to guide his team to victory. Eric Gordon had 18 points, while Clint Capella registered 13 points and 10 caroms. Nene Hilario scored 14 off the bench. Houston outscored the Mavs by double digits in each of the first three quarters before Dallas dominated the fourth quarter by a 33-15 margin in garbage time.
The under is 24-11 in the last 35 meetings in Houston.
The Rockets are without Paul, which is enough for us to want to take the Grizzlies on the road with Conley and Gasol leading the way. It seems 7.5 points is a bit much on the spread. Memphis never seems to get enough respect and after knocking off the Warriors at home a couple nights ago, it’s clear this is a team that means business once again.
