Jerebko tip-in wins it
A tip-in by Jonas Jerebko at the buzzer gave the Warriors a 124-123 victory Friday night at the Jazz. He had 10 points and six rebounds off the bench in 24 minutes, no bucket more important than the one to finish it. Kevin Durant poured in 38 points on 14-of-25 shooting and 9-of-9 at the free throw line to lead the way. Durant also pulled down nine rebounds and had seven assists. Steph Curry had 31 points on 13-of-24 shooting with eight assists, four boards and two steals. Draymond Green contributed 14 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two blocks. Klay Thompson had 12 points and four rebounds. Golden State outscored Utah 27-20 in the fourth quarter to squeak out the win.
Jokic records triple-double in win
Denver eased to a 119-91 home victory over the Suns last night as center Nikola Jokic manufactured a triple-double. Jokic poured in 35 points on a perfect 11-of-11 from the floor including 3-of-3 from 3-point range, while going 10-of-11 from the free throw line. He added 12 rebounds and 11 assists for the triple-double while also having four steals plus a block. The Nuggets led by 16 at halftime and put it away by outscoring Phoenix 27-12 in the fourth quarter. Jamal Murray had 26 points, five assists, two steals and a block. Gary Harris put in 18 points to go with four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Paul Millsap accounted for 14 points, 10 boards and two assists. Will Barton added 14 points, five rebounds and four assists in 19 minutes before leaving the game with a hip injury.
NBA Betting Trends
Golden State
The Warriors are 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games. The over is 11-2 in the last 13 meetings.
Denver
The under is 4-0 in the last four Nuggets home games. Denver is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings.
Prediction:
Denver is on a back-to-back, but gets to stay at home and didn’t have to expend extra energy in the win against the Suns. The biggest concern is the availability of Barton. But with Jokic in the zone and a successful history against the Warriors, I like the Nuggets’ chances on their home court. Denver looks like it will put together a fantastic season and this is an opportunity to prove it can hang.
