Spurs give Parker an extension
SAN ANTONIO, TX (TheSpread) – Tony Parker reached a multiyear extension with the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, keeping the veteran guard with the defending NBA champs for the near future.
ESPN is reporting that the extension is worth $43.3 million over the next three years. Parker was originally scheduled to make $12.5 million next season in the final year of his then-current contract.
Parker averaged 16.7 points and 5.7 assists last season for the Spurs in 68 games. He also averaged 17.4 points and 4.8 assists per game during the playoffs, helping lead the Spurs to the NBA Championship.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Spurs have 9/2 odds to win the 2015 NBA Finals. Oddsmakers see Cleveland as the favorite with 5/2 odds while Chicago and Oklahoma City each have 13/2 odds to win.
