Where will LeBron play next season?
(TheSpread) – It is possible that LeBron James could hit the free agent market this offseason. Here is a look at the odds to see where LeBron will be playing next season.
James has the option to opt-out of his current contract, making him a free agent. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Miami Heat are the clear favorites to hold on to LeBron, as it has 1/8 odds. The other short odds are the Cleveland Cavaliers (6/1) and the Chicago Bulls (10/1).
The Heat have the edge due to LeBron needing to choose to leave his current contract, which is already very profitable. Also, the Heat seem intent to keep LeBron happy and in Miami as they pursue a return to the NBA title.
Since LeBron left Cleveland with “The Decision” there has always been rumors that James planned to someday return to his old team. A native of Akron, which is just outside of Cleveland, the Cavaliers have a young roster that could actually compliment James right now and help him win titles.
Chicago has a strong coach and a roster of talent, but could use a reliable star like James to help elevate the pressure on Derrick Rose, whose body has failed him in recent seasons. James and Rose together and healthy could be an unstoppable duo.
