The Spurs are the top seed in the Western Conference, while Oklahoma City comes in as the No. 2 seed. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, San Antonio is the favorite to win this series, as the Spurs have odds of -215 to win, while the Thunder have been given a money line of +180 to prevail.

The Spurs went 62-20 this season to earn the best record in the entire NBA. The Spurs were 32-9 at home and 30-11 on the road. The 30 road wins were most in the league by five. San Antonio also went 38-14 in conference play, winning the Southwest Division. The Spurs held opponents to just 97.6 points per game while scoring 105.4 per contest. San Antonio needed seven games to get past the Dallas Mavericks in the first round and then took just five games to beat the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round.

Oklahoma City went 59-23 this season, winning the Northwest Division. The Thunder had a 34-7 record at home, a 25-16 mark on the road and a 36-16 conference record. The 34 wins at home tied for the most of any team in the West. Oklahoma City averaged 106.2 points per game on offense while allowing just 99.8 points per contest. The Thunder went seven games in the first round to beat the Memphis Grizzlies, then took six games to beat the Los Angeles Clippers. In the final game with the Clippers, the Thunder lost center Serge Ibaka for the playoffs to a calf injury.

These two teams met four times during the regular season, with Oklahoma City winning all four games and outscoring the Spurs by 37 points. The Thunder covered the spread in all four meetings with San Antonio. Oklahoma City has won eight of its last 10 against the Spurs, going 8-1-1 against the spread in those 10 games.
