Memphis Grizzlies DFS Notes
Ja Morant (right knee bone bruise) has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Warriors. No surprise here, as it was said earlier this week that Morant was unlikely to play again during the postseason. Tyus Jones will remain in the starting lineup, and he’s a solid option as far as DFS is concerned. Another player who stands to benefit from Morant’s absence is Desmond Bane, who has been dealing with a nagging back injury. The issue hasn’t been severe enough to keep him on the sideline, so Bane will also be worth a serious look in DFS.
Golden State Warriors DFS Notes
Klay Thompson hit 7-of-12 shots and three 3-pointers to lead the Warriors with 19 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal in Wednesday’s brutal 134-95 loss to the Ja Morant-less Grizzlies, who cut the Warriors’ lead to 3-2. Jonathan Kuminga, who was pulled from the starting lineup for the second half, played some garbage time and added 17 points and three boards, Stephen Curry had 14 points, four assists and three 3-pointers, and Damion Lee and Moses Moody both scored 10 in the loss. The score was 77-50 at the half and the Warriors were down by 55 at one point in the second half. Thompson had a team-worst +/- of -45 and Curry was next with a -37, without Ja Morant (knee) in uniform. Game 6 is on Friday night in San Francisco and if the Dubs blow that one the teams will meet for a Game 7 in Memphis on Monday night. Mike Brown, who is the new coach of the Sacramento Kings, is probably glad he signed his deal a couple days before this disaster.
