San Antonio was able to take a 3-2 lead in the series with a 110-107 OT win at home in Game 5 on Tuesday night. The Rockets covered the spread in the loss and they are 3-2 ATS in this series. The Spurs are 68-25 overall, 32-13 on the road and 47-44-2 against the spread. Houston is 61-31 overall, 34-12 at home and 48-44 against the spread.
Game 5 was a real battle, with the Spurs managing to squeak out the win despite not having Kawhi Leonard in the closing stages. He sprained his left ankle in the game and is now questionable for tonight’s contest. He had 22 points and 15 rebounds before leaving the game. With him out, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green stepped up. The two combined for 28 points in the win and Manu had the game-winning block in the closing seconds. James Harden had 33, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the game, but struggled in the fourth and was just 4-of-15 from 3-point land with nine turnovers.
Houston only played seven in Game 5, which could cause some problems tonight. There could be a level of fatigue, especially from Harden, who seemed to tire down the end of Game 5. However, if the Spurs don’t have Leonard, I have a hard time seeing them win. Even if Leonard should play, he won’t be at 100 percent. San Antonio doesn’t get consistent play out of their supporting cast. If Leonard can’t carry this team, I don’t think they can hang with Houston and its high-powered offense.
