Rockets put beatdown on Jazz
After Utah stunned host Houston as a double-digit underdog with a 116-108 win in Game 2, maybe it was inevitable that the Rockets would come out clicking on all cylinders the following game. Making it tougher was going on the road to do it, but Houston still made it look easy as it led 70-40 at halftime en route to the blowout victory. James Harden led the way with 25 points, 12 assists, four rebounds, two steals and a block over 30 minutes. Eric Gordon also scored 25 in 31 minutes off the bench, also providing two rebounds and a steal. No on on the Rockets roster played more than 31 minutes as starters received extra rest due to the lopsided score.
Burks continues to play well off bench
Utah backup shooting guard Alec Burks scored 14 points in only 18 minutes off the bench, shooting 5-of-11 from the floor including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. He was plus-2 for the game. He has scored in double figures in three of the last four playoff games, including a 17-point effort in the Game 2 win. Meanwhile, rookie Donovan Mitchell had his weakest game of the postseason with only 10 points on 4-of-16 shooting. Look for a bounceback effort from Mitchell tonight.
NBA Betting Trends
Houston
The Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Houston is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings.
Utah
The Jazz are 1-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Utah. The under is 4-0 in the last four Utah games played on one day of rest.
Prediction:
Utah looked helpless last contest, but it is still a team that is 31-14 straight up at home this season and stole Game 2 in Houston. The Jazz make adjustments on the fly as well as anyone and I’d expect them to give their home fans a much better showing tonight. Go with the Jazz to cover at home here.
