NBA Daily Fantasy Predictions 5/3/18 Should you play two centers Thursday?

The NBA Playoffs for Thursday features two games in the Eastern Conference. Here are our suggested NBA Daily Fantasy picks for tonight’s action.

Point Guard – Celtics’ Marcus Smart (vs. Philadelphia, 8:30PM ET) $5,700

Smart has been able to be a nice contributor for the Celtics in these last two playoff games. He has logged 32 minutes in both and has scored over 25 fantasy points in each. While not a great offensive option for scoring, he still racks up assists, rebounds and steals. His defense was a key part to helping the Celtics win Game 1.

Shooting Guard – 76ers’ JJ Redick (at Boston, 8:30PM ET) $5,400

Redick didn’t shoot well from the arc in Game 1, but he still logged 34 minutes. Redick is on the floor a lot for Philly and he has scored 20 points or more in their last three games. If Redick gets hot, he is going to put up a nice fantasy total for you at a cheap price.

Small Forward – Cavs’ J.R. Smith (at Toronto, 6PM ET) $4,500

The Cavs need some role players to step up in this series and Smith did it in Game 1 by scoring 20 points and hitting five 3-pointers. While I don’t know that he can shoot that well tonight, his scoring kept him from doing much else in the stat book. If he doesn’t shoot as well tonight, I think you will see him add more rebounds and assists and push for another 30-point fantasy night.

Power Forward – Celtics’ Al Horford (vs. Philadelphia, 8:30PM ET) $7,600

Horford continues to do what he can to put this team on his back. He had 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in Game 1 of this series and has over 40 fantasy points in three of his last four. Horford should continue to play well as he is really all Boston has in the frontcourt.

Center – 76ers’ Joel Embiid (at Boston, 8:30PM ET) $9,300

I am going with both Embiid and Toronto’s Jonas Valanciunas (utility) tonight. Both have favorable matchups against poor frontcourt defenders in their respective series. Valanciunas had 21 points and 21 rebounds in his Game 1 while Embiid had 31 points and 13 rebounds against the Celtics. Boston has struggled with centers all year, so I expect Embiid to continue to be the top fantasy scorer for Philly in this series.
