Boston Celtics DFS Notes
Jayson Tatum scored 39 points in a 109-103 Game 3 win over the Nets on Saturday, also adding a playoff career-high six steals along with five boards, six assists, four 3-pointers and six turnovers in 45 minutes. It wasn’t the most efficient evening for Tatum as he shot just 13-of-29 from the field, but luckily that doesn’t affect DFS scoring. While Tatum is already a bona fide offensive star, his defense should not go overlooked by any means – he was a big part of the reason Kevin Durant (16/8/8) was only able to hoist up 11 shots tonight. Tatum and his incredible defensive efforts along with his newly improved playmaking are some of the many reasons the Celtics were able to take a commanding 3-0 lead, and they must be feeling peachy heading into the next one. In Monday’s Game 4, Boston will get a chance to sweep a team that was the favorite to win it all before the season began, and it’ll be must-see TV just as most of this series has been.
Brooklyn Nets DFS Notes
Kevin Durant recorded a line of 16 points (6-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, eight assists, one steal, two 3-pointers and five turnovers in 46 minutes as the Nets lost Game 3 to the Celtics on Saturday. KD was efficient this evening after shooting just 30.5% from the field in Games 1 and 2, but the low shot attempts is definitely not the what the Nets needed tonight. The Celtics defense gets a ton of credit as they were hounding Durant all night and not allowing him to shoot with the ease that we’ve grown so accustomed to, but there’s also a good chance he wasn’t as aggressive given his struggles in the first two contests. We’re very curious to see how KD will respond in a must-win Game 4 on Monday, but it’s boiled down to it being now or never for Brooklyn. Other Brooklyn superstar Kyrie Irving didn’t have things going either, shooting just 6-of-17 from the floor for a 16/3/9/3/1 line, and these two are both going to have to be better if they want to avoid a first-round sweep on Monday. Blake Griffin (left ankle) played for the first time in this series and scored eight points in eight minutes, but don’t expect that to be the norm.
