NBA FREE PICK: Take Atlanta. According to latest NBA trends, Atlanta is 4-0 ATS last 4 Sunday games, 6-2 ATS last 8 road games, 10-4 ATS last 14 Conference quarterfinal games and 10-4 ATS last 14 in series.  Indiana is 4-12-1 ATS last 17 following a double-digit loss at home, 0-7 ATS last 7 vs. Eastern Conference and 0-5 ATS last 5 home games.

Atlanta (44-38 SU, 37-43-2 ATS, 42-39-1 O/U) has lost two straight coming into the playoffs. For some reason, they avoided the fifth spot and wound up in sixth. Indiana (49-32SU, 42-39 ATS, 38-42-1 O/U) lost three straight to end the regular season including a 105-95 loss at home to Philadelphia as 2.5-point betting odds favorite. They are 0-6 ATS last 6 games. Atlanta sharpshooter Kyle Korver is a third or fourth option but he has been key in Atlanta's two regular-season wins over Indiana, making 53.1 percent of his three-pointers. Atlanta can defend with a man-to-man but they were most successful when they went zone against the Pacers in a November win. Indiana made just 4 of 19 shots from the field and scored just nine points in the fourth quarter. Indiana shoots 34.7 percent from beyond the arc (22nd) and they don't have a shooter like Reggie Miller or even Korver to go against a zone. Indiana hasn't won an opening game in a series since 2006. The might do it this time but it will be a struggle  Atlanta visits Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. to take on the Pacers at 1pmET on Sunday in the first game of the Eastern Conference first round matchup.
