Brooklyn Nets DFS Notes
Kevin Durant shot 9-of-24 from the field and 4-of-5 from the foul line in Sunday’s 115-114 loss to the Celtics, scoring 23 points with four rebounds, three assists, one steal, one blocked shot, and one 3-pointer in 41 minutes. Boston’s approach to defending Durant in this series was made clear from the start, with the on-ball defender making sure to crowd him at every opportunity. Add in the other four defenders having their eyes on KD when he had the ball, and it was difficult for him to truly get going. However, this did not keep him from making history, as Durant became the 13th player in NBA history to hit the 30,000-point mark in regular-season and playoff games, combined. Given Durant’s career resume, no one will be surprised if he bounces back in a big way in Wednesday’s Game 2.
Boston Celtics DFS Notes
Jayson Tatum shot 9-of-18 from the field and 10-of-12 from the foul line in Sunday’s 115-114 win over the Nets, scoring 31 points with four rebounds, eight assists, one steal, two blocks, and three 3-pointers in 45 minutes. Tatum capped his big day in style, as his layup as time expired gave the Celtics a 1-0 series lead. While the five turnovers weren’t great, he was productive enough across the board to more than make up for that in DFS. If there’s a concern for Boston it’s the workload that Tatum had to take on, as he played a game-high 45 minutes. With this series having the look of one that will go long, Celtics coach Ime Udoka may look to cut Tatum’s minutes slightly in Game 2. This would not impact his standing as a marquee option in DFS, however.
