Minnesota Timberwolves DFS Notes
In 42 minutes, Karl-Anthony Towns shot an efficient 11-of-18 from the field (5-of-5 FTs) for 29 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, one block, and three turnovers in Saturday’s win over the Grizzlies. The Timberwolves haven’t won a playoff series since 2004, but tonight was a good start as they took down the Grizzlies in game one 130-117. This was a big bounce-back game for KAT, as he struggled in Tuesday’s play-in game, where he also fouled out. For the T-Wolves to advance in the playoffs, Towns will have to put up lines like this to defeat a tough young Memphis team.
Memphis Grizzlies DFS Notes
In 35 minutes, Ja Morant scored 32 points on 8-of-18 shooting (16-of-20 FTs), four rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and three turnovers in Saturday’s loss to the Timberwolves. Morant was very aggressive from the opening tip, and as a result, he shot 20 free throws, but it wasn’t enough. The Timberwolves did a great job of crowding Morant and making him take tough shots. For the Grizzlies to win this series, they will need to make outside shots and get more from Jaren Jackson Jr., who struggled to get things going as he shot 4-of-13 from the field for 12 points. Memphis can bounce back in game two Tuesday night at home.
